What you can ask Slack

Ask in plain language, with no slash commands. Slack replies in the thread so the whole team sees the result.

These are examples of the kind of request to try. What Slack can do depends on your Slack account and permissions.

How to chat with Slack in a channel

  1. Enable it for the workspace. An admin or owner opens the Apps tab, switches to MCP, finds Slack and enables it.
  2. Connect your account. Each person signs in to Slack once. FabricLoop acts as you, using your permissions.
  3. Message it directly. Select Slack in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel.
  4. Or mention it in any channel. Type @, pick Slack and describe what you want. It replies in the thread on your message, so everyone in the channel can see it, and you can keep going there for follow-ups.

Direct channel app. Slack also has a direct connection. Open a channel, choose Apps and Agents from the header menu, then Add app (direct connection), and Slack events land in that channel as they happen.

Read more in the help center: talk to an installed app, the MCP catalog and installing a channel app.

Add FabricLoop to Slack

FabricLoop connects to your Slack workspace so you can search and post in Slack from FabricLoop, and bring Slack channel messages into a FabricLoop channel.

  1. Open the Apps tab in FabricLoop. An admin or owner switches to MCP, finds Slack and enables it for the workspace.
  2. Connect your Slack account. Choose Connect and approve FabricLoop on Slack's permission screen. Slack shows exactly what access is requested before you approve.
  3. Optional: bring Slack messages into a channel. Open a FabricLoop channel, choose Apps and Agents from the header menu, then Add app (direct connection) and pick Slack.

After you install

When the connection shows as active, select Slack in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel, or type @ in any channel and pick Slack. Try one of the prompts above to confirm it works. You can disconnect Slack at any time from the same Apps tab.

FabricLoop's handling of your data is described in our privacy policy. Questions about the Slack app? Contact support.

Slack integration FAQ

What is the Slack MCP server URL?

The Slack MCP server is at https://mcp.slack.com/mcp. FabricLoop connects to it for you when an admin enables Slack, so you do not paste the URL anywhere.

How do I use Slack in FabricLoop?

An admin enables Slack from the Apps tab under MCP and each person connects their own Slack account. Then select Slack in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel, or type @ in any channel, pick Slack and ask in plain language. In a channel it replies in the thread.

Who can see what Slack returns?

Slack replies in the channel thread, so everyone in that channel sees the answer. It uses the connecting person's Slack permissions, and the connection does not expand anyone's membership in FabricLoop.

Is there an integration you do not have?
