Gmail MCP integration

Search Gmail, read threads, and create drafts. Chat with it in its own channel, or @mention it in any channel, and it replies in the thread.

What you can ask Gmail

Ask in plain language, with no slash commands. Gmail replies in the thread so the whole team sees the result.

These are examples of the kind of request to try. What Gmail can do depends on your Gmail account and permissions.

How to chat with Gmail in a channel

  1. Enable it for the workspace. An admin or owner opens the Apps tab, switches to MCP, finds Gmail and enables it.
  2. Connect your account. Each person signs in to Gmail once. FabricLoop acts as you, using your permissions.
  3. Message it directly. Select Gmail in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel.
  4. Or mention it in any channel. Type @, pick Gmail and describe what you want. It replies in the thread on your message, so everyone in the channel can see it, and you can keep going there for follow-ups.

Read more in the help center: talk to an installed app, the MCP catalog and installing a channel app.

Gmail integration FAQ

What is the Gmail MCP server URL?

The Gmail MCP server is at https://gmailmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1. FabricLoop connects to it for you when an admin enables Gmail, so you do not paste the URL anywhere.

How do I use Gmail in FabricLoop?

An admin enables Gmail from the Apps tab under MCP and each person connects their own Gmail account. Then select Gmail in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel, or type @ in any channel, pick Gmail and ask in plain language. In a channel it replies in the thread.

Who can see what Gmail returns?

Gmail replies in the channel thread, so everyone in that channel sees the answer. It uses the connecting person's Gmail permissions, and the connection does not expand anyone's membership in FabricLoop.
